Star Wars Battlefront 2 has dropped just in time for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the new movie in the franchise coming on December 13. With the new movie coming up and the game’s somewhat limping start, EA is releasing the first Star Wars Battlefront 2 free DLC.
For those of you who don’t know, EA has announced that all DLC for Battlefront 2 will be included as part of the base game, meaning they will all completely free (which is probably why they were really counting on those microtransactions).
So what are we expecting to see in the new DLC? Basically, we’re facing a month-long event, by the end of which two new maps, two new heroes, one hero ship, and a couple of campaign missions will all be added to the game. The familiar faces (or helmets) of Captain Phasma and Finn will be playable at last.
This week, players who enter the game will be given a choice of faction. You will be able to choose to assist the Resistance or the First Order. For the upcoming month, players of both factions will undergo daily and weekly challenges. The faction whose players clear more challenges will win the conflict, and all players who fought for this faction will receive a rare loot box (pardon my language).
Every day now new challenges will open and you’ll definitely want to complete them because we’re all fighting for really cool rewards here. Players who complete the different faction challenges will receive a rare Star Card for the new hero character that belongs to their faction, regardless of the conflict’s results.
Next week, on December 13, we’ll be given access to the two new heroes: Finn and Captain Phasma. We’ll also get two new maps: a Galactic Assault map for the planet Crait, which is the planet from the movie trailer where you see the gorilla-looking AT-AT’s, and a new Starfighter Assault map called D’Qar, which will also a planet in the movie.
Alongside these two maps, we’ll receive a new hero ship for the character Tallie, and a few new episodes for the campaign which will tell of Iden Versio’s tales during the First Order’s rise to power.
Sounds like things are really heating up, and I’m sure it’s only the beginning. Disable camera surface pro 4 review. Tell us what faction you’re going to side with.

Check under Purchased for the Star Wars Battlefront II client, select it and start your download.
Xbox One: If you’ve pre-ordered: Redeem your pre-order code. Go to My Games and Apps. Choose Ready to Install. Select the Star Wars Battlefront II from the list and choose Install. Confirm your choice if there are any on-screen pop-ups. The client installs automatically once the download finishes.
Star Wars Battlefront II Missing Pre-Order Bonuses
This is only related to the Trial and likely to the Early Access. It is very likely that all pre-order bonuses and InGame items will be sent away on the game’s release date – 17th November. This hasn’t been confirmed yet, but just so you know – you are not alone. Make sure that you have purchased the game from a qualifying retailer. It is possible that some physical stores (and some online probably too) may not be able to give you the extra additional bonuses. If your pre-order is from Origin and you haven’t received Loot Crates InGame yet, you have to contact Support immediately and ask them what the reason is.
Origin Client is Stuck in Offline Mode
If your Origin Client is stuck in Offline mode, the first thing you need to check is if the service is actually online and working. It’s extremely rare, but there might be a case where the Origin service is offline, preventing you from logging in to your account.
If that is not the case, there are several steps you can take in order to attempt and solve the issue: Close Origin completely by right clicking the Origin system tray icon and selecting Exit. Make sure that Origin is up-to-date – you can download it here. Make sure Time/Date is correctly set on the PC. Reset Internet Explorer Settings (even if you don’t use IE, Origin does). Untick the options in the LAN Settings. Clear Origin Cache Data. Reset the Windows Host File. Reboot your computer. Flush DNS.
In the past there were issues where the Antivirus would not allow Origin to go online, however this shouldn’t be a problem of today. If you want to rule it out anyway, just make sure the Origin Client Service is allowed through the Firewall or Antivirus that you are using.
Can’t get SW Battlefront II to launch on PC, Installation issues
If you are having issues starting the game, you have to start with the basic checks: Make sure you have the required hardware to support the game if you are on PC. Next, try reinstalling Origin and/or updating it to its latest version. It is quite common that Origin wont update itself and if it’s been a while since you installed it on your PC, it’s worth uninstalling the client and installing it once again. Don’t worry, all of your games will still be there.
If you have an ASUS ROG mainboard and are using the software Asus Game First III, you may have to close it. It has been reported to cause trouble with the installation of the game some times.
Star Wars Battlefront II is freezing, stuttering, crashing, Direct X 12 issues
If your game freezes up or crashes to desktop, check if your system covers the game’s system requirements and update your video drivers to the latest version. Nvidia has a game ready driver that is specifically released for Battlefront II. Another possible solution recommended on the EA HQ forums is to uninstall and reinstall your GPU and also check if you can extend your virtual memory (the windows page file). By default the Windows OS sets hard drive space in the amount of 150% of your RAM to be allocated and reserved for Virtual Memory.
If the game is stuttering, try switching from DirectX 12 back to DirectX 11 and see if that works. Also see if switching from Borderless to Fullscreen will fix this. There might be a hotfix or a patch soon about the DirectX 12 issues. It may help if you completely disable DirectX 12 from the game files. The file you need to edit is located in “/Document/STAR WARS Battlefront II/settings”. There you need to loook for “GstRender.EnableDx12″ and replace the ‘1” with a “0”.
Patch 1.0 from 13th December includes fixes and improvements to the issues with stuttering and freezing.
SW Battlefront II keeps losing connection – Error Code 327
Many players report early on in the first days since Trials began that the game constantly loses connection to the EA servers. This may be related to firewall and blocked ports. It has been suggested that you 1st disable your Firewal. 2nd – go to Origin and in My Games select Game Properties on SWBF2 and remove the check mark from “Enable Origin In Game…” 3rd – modify your router settings in the following way: In Forward Rules of your router settings menu, find Port Mapping Configuration and open ports UDP 443, TCP 80, 443, 8080. For more info, check EA’s guide on opening ports: https://help.ea.com/uk/help/faq/opening-tcp-or-udp-ports-for-connection-issues/. You can also check out the various tests and fixes the community has tried to come up with at https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/error-327/m-p/6420188#M407.
This Account is not able to play Online SW Battlefront 2 – error 524
This error 524 code when trying to play Battlefront 2 on Xbox One may appear due to not properly set Parental Controls. For some helpful articles on how to do this, check out EA’s database: https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/browse/xbox-one/security
If the problem isn’t solved after you have consulted the instructions from the link above, then you will have to contact an Advisor from EA’s Customer Service (quick note: the wait can be very long): https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/

HDR Brightness Slider not working correctly in Star Wars Battlefront II
Seeveral people have reported an issue with the HDR brightness slider in the game being “out of whack”. It appears to be a bug and no solution has been found just yet.
Issues with Nvidia Drivers and SW Battlefront 2
To run Star Wars Battlefront II you need at least driver version 382.33 or newer. Update your driver to that version and try again. It is highly recommended that you completely uninstall your old drivers and do a clean install of the latest ones.
Having trouble with SW Battlefront II Graphics on PC
Start up the game, go to Options and then Video. Under Fullscreen mode, switch to Borderless or Windowed. Hit Back and click Yes to confirm the new settings. Jump into another game and see if performance has improved.
Borderless Window Issues on Multi-Screen Setup with SW Battlefront 2
If you have any problems with Borderless Window not being displayed properly on your monitor and you are using a multi monitor setup, switch the game on another display in Full Screen, then switch it back. This reset is reported to solve the issue.
Keyboard and Mouse issues – SW Battlefront II doesn’t recognize any/either device input
The following are possible solutions for when your Star Wars Battlefront 2 doesn’t recognize your mouse and/or keyboard. If you can ‘t click on anything in the game, try one of t he following: Disabling/uninstalling TeamViewer if you are using this program.; Have SteelSeries products, mice, specifically – try switching off the mouse acceleration; If none of the above works, disabling the Origin InGame functionality might help; Lastly, see if you can turn off any extra USB devices you might have attached to your PC, then try starting the game again.
User FireCarf reported in the comments below that opening and closing Discord (if you have it installed) from the task manager, also helps resolve the issue with keyboard and mouse not working in Battlefront 2.
Cannot assign Custom Keybinds in SW Battlefront 2
If you attempt to change any of the default keybinds in SWBG2 and turns you that you are not allowed, know that Nvidia’s overlay may be responsible for that bug. If you deactivate it, you should be able to assign any custom keybinds as you please. https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Cant-reassign-Keybinds/m-p/6410163/highlight/true#M125
Star Wars Battlefront II causing a Windows Restart after a match
Several players have reported similar issue – their Windows OS is restarting when they end a multiplayer match or finish a mission from the solo campaign. There have been several fixes suggested: 1. This may be due to a window setting set to restart the computer on certain errors. You can disable this via https://support.hp.com/ee-en/document/c03413399 (its an hp site, but the instructions apply to all PCs); 2. Cut the Star Wars Battlefront II folder from your documents folder and move it to the desktop and then restart the game again. 3. A weird solution, that somehow worked for one user was to change from DirectX 10/11 to DirectX 12.
SW Battlefront 2 wont start downloading – Origin is waiting for Permission error
Here is a suggested solution to this problem from the EA HQ forums: try run as Administrator – close Origin, right click it and choose Rrun as Administrator. Also make sure the pop up didn’t pop up behind your open window.
To run as admin forever and not right click it each time; C:Program Files (x86)OriginOrigin.exe right click, properties, compatibility tab, run as admin (select box at bottom); C:Program Files (x86)Origin GamesSTAR WARS Battlefront IIstarwarsbattlefrontii.exe right click, properties, compatibility tab, run as admin (select box at bottom). Another possible reason for this issue is that you are running an older/outdated version of the Origin client.

Cannot properly play with friends in Multiplayer matches
This, technically, is a big problem, but it is not a bug and there is no known workaround using the mechanics of the game at the moment. The problem consists of the fact that when you die during a match, you respawn with the first 4 people, who died before or after you. There is no reliable way to force the system to make you wait to spawn together with your friends. This is valid for both at the beginning of the match as well as during it. This is simply how the system is designed to work and it is up to EA/DICE to change it.
Free Trial allows you only 8 hours of gameplay
This is a common issue and the best you can do is contact EA Customer Service. They will simply add the remaining 2 hours to your Trial up to full 10.
Fuzzy text in SW Battlefront II menus
Either wait few moments and the game may update it itself. Or alt + tab few times in and out of the game and that usually solves it too. You can also try going into windowed mode by pressing alt + enter and do it few times and the game should update it to the normal standard. You can also go into settings manually and change your screen settings few times as well to update it. Relaunching the game few times may fix it too. You can also play few matches and when you exit it will update usually. Also, make sure to upgrade your drivers if you didn’t already.
Only first 3 campaign missions are available in “Select Missioin” for SWBF2
This is a known bug, reported by many players already. It seems to be an issue related to the Trial, where only the first 3 missions were available for replay via the “Select Mission” tab. Customer Support has no answer (I spent 1h talking to 2 agents). There is a solution that has been proven to work, but it involves you restarting the whole campaign from the beginning: delete your local save as well as the cloud save; start a new campaign and activate the cloud save again (if you want to).
Here are instructions on how to delete the cloud saves:
PC: Turn off Cloud Save in Origin, log out of your Origin client; Delete the Star Wars Battlefront II folder located in C:UsersUSER_NAMEDocumentsSTAR WARS Battlefront II; Launch the game and start a new campaign, when you decide to, exit and from Origin’s client turn back on the cloud save feature if you wish to.
Console: On Home, pull the right trigger, and then press A to open My games and apps; Highlight the game, press the Menu button on your controller, and then select Manage game; Scroll to the right, highlight the saved data for your gamer tag under Saved Data, and then press A on your controller; Choose Delete everywhere; Restart Console

Can’t connect to Battlefront 2 servers – Error 721
This is a networking issue. You can try resetting your router, but if it doesn’t work, you may just have to wait for the Developers to look into it. It was a common issue with the Beta and seems to continue in the Full Game as well.
If everything is ok on your end and you are certain your connection is fine, then check if the servers might actually be down for a maintenance. Some patches take longer up to many hours.
Can’t start up Star Wars Battlefront II – Error 0x7e
If you are seeing the following error: “Missing DLL: [mfplat.dll] Errpor: 0x7e”, know that is is a Windows version issue. You need to install the Media pack from here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3133719/media-feature-pack-for-n-editions-of-windows-10-version-1607. If this doesn’t help, better contact EA CS or write in EA HQ forums.
Star Wars Battlefront II Lagging during Campaign Cinematics
If you experience stuttering and lag during the cinematics in the solo campaign in Star Wars Battlefront II, the reason could most likely be a CPU or GPU overloading as the game is loading the next level during each cinematic (according to EA HQ). If you are certain your game covers comfortably the system requirements, then you should be able to solve this by simply turning offDirectX 12 from the Video menu. Star Wars Battlefront 2 doesn’t fully support DirectX 1. Find more info here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Campaighn-cinematics-lagging/m-p/6423018#M597

A number of improvements and fixes have been added to the game with The Last Jedi Patch from 13th December. Make sure your game is updated properly.
HUD incorrectly displayed in Multi-Monitor setup for SW Battlefront II
If your UI is messed up when trying to play a match or the campaign in Star Wars Battlefront II and you have more than one screen the game spans to, this issue should be resolved by using Borderless Window. Similar problems were known from the first Battlefront game as well and it seems they continue here. Could be a general flaw with the Frostbyte engine or simply an oversight from the devs. There have been quite a few reports on this all around the internet, but no fix has been released to that issue yet.
Milestones and Achievements not being granted properly to players
There have been reports of missing milestones and achievements from a lot of players. As a compensation all players get a bonus crate including 4000 credits and Standard Starfighter rewards.
Error 2396 – Progression Issues in SW Battlefront 2
Many players have reported an “error 2396” event related to progression (levels, skill points, crafting parts etc) not being saved shortly prior to the planned for 25th April Hotfix update. As reported by the community manager Ben Walke on the game’s forums, the issue should be resolved. If you continue to experience issues and still don’t see your missing skill points and/or levels and other currencies, file in a ticket or report a bug and contact Customer Support. More info: https://battlefront-forums.ea.com/discussion/107743/online-issues#latest
Daily Crates disappearing from the game
If you notice a missing daily crate from your game, try restarting your cilent and the crate should appear. This simple solution has been reported to be working by several players already. If your crates are still missing, contact Customer Support and let them know.
If you couldn’t find the solution to your problem here, try the Star Wars Battlefront II Multiplayer Beta Problems and Fixes post. Some of the issues are mirrored, but some aren’t and they might apply to your situation.
